Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Broadcast Field Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of broadcast equipment. This role requires a deep understanding of broadcast engineering principles and the ability to work collaboratively with the production team to ensure seamless broadcast operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Install, and configure a wide range of broadcast equipment from manufacturers such as Sony, Panasonic, Grass Valley, and Blackmagic Design, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted broadcast services.
  • Collaborate closely with the production team to support live broadcasts and pre-recorded content, ensuring high-quality output.
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks and updates on all broadcast equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Provide technical support and training to production staff as needed.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend and implement improvements to broadcast systems.
  • Ensure all broadcast operations adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in using broadcast software and tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and Avid Media Composer.
  • Knowledge of signal flow and broadcast systems integration.
  • Familiarity with IP-based broadcast systems and remote production technologies.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience with RF transmission systems and satellite uplink/downlink operations.
  • Certification in broadcast engineering (e.g., SBE Certified Broadcast Engineer) is a plus.
